Home 9

This is a house we built for a young Family out west of Spokane on some acreage. They had a large family and a limited budget so we had to get a lot into a limited space. The homeowner drew up a floor plan. I reworked it to make it a little more usable. We built the house into the rock bluff on the back of the property. By doing this we were able to accomplish several things. We made a very usable daylight basement that we could get all the kids bedrooms in and a nice size playroom and bathroom. We also got a very nice setting in the trees with a nice view of a wetland and the land to the south of the house. We also got enough rise above the drain field that we could pressurize it with out a pump.

On the main floor we had a very open floor plan. The kitchen, dining room and living room were all open to each other with lots of windows and a sliding glass door going out to a deck overlooking the wetland. It was truly a great room very light and open with a nice view out to the west and south. The master bedroom suite had a den off of it and a nice sized master bath with a five-foot shower and a soaking tub. There was also a laundry room with an out side door so the kids could come in and get cleaned up before going in to the rest of the house.
